Media Voices are delighted to reveal the winners of the inaugural Publisher Podcast Awards, following the ceremony last night at Proud Cabaret City, London.

The awards are a celebration of the podcasting success of publishers and media organisations, whether they’ve been in the podcasting space a while, or have just launched their first one.

From an exceptionally strong shortlist, our judges marked the podcasts on a range of factors, including production quality, continuity, how well the podcast reflected the publisher’s brand, and growth strategy.

120+ entries, 77 shortlisted podcasts and 12 category winners…but this is the ultimate acolade. The Media Voices team have chosen an overall winner from the 12 category winners to take home the ‘Publisher Podcast Of The Year 2020’ prize.

This was exceptionally difficult due to the high standard of entries. We looked for a podcast which was a strong reflection of the publisher’s brand, had exceptionally high production, a strong growth strategy, and a commercial plan which would see the podcast add real value for the business.

But that’s not all. We wanted to find a podcast which really entertained us, made us feel part of the club, and which left us waiting impatiently for the next episode.

PUBLISHER PODCAST HERO OF THE YEAR 2020

To secure podcasting as a successful part of a publisher’s strategy, there are often key people within the business driving best practice, seeking inspiration, and looking for new opportunities with the format.

This special award, chosen this year by the Media Voices team, celebrates an individual within the industry who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate the value of podcasting to their organisation.

We looked for someone who has been vocal both inside and outside the industry about their podcasts, who is eager to make the technology and production processes beneficial to a publisher’s workflow, and who is a true inspiration to anyone looking to launch their first or their next podcast.
